Q.1 Write
down the distinctive features of Islamic society and compare the contemporary
society with ideal Islamic society.
Its
structure, composition and characteristics is unique to
the Islamic Society.
The Quran and Hadith show these characteristics. A partial list of features of
an Islamic society is provided below:
1.
To adjust what is good to
2.
Forbid what is wrong
3.
Faith in God
These
three features are summarized in the Quran in Surah Al-'Imran (The Family of
'Imran). "You are the best of peoples, evolved for mankind, enjoining what
is right, forbidding what is wrong and believing in God" (3:110).
4.
A moderation and a moderation ummah are the fourth characteristic of the
Islamic Society. The Quran is very well explained in this concept of a
community of moderation. In Surah-Al-Baqarah (The Cow), Allah says, "Thus
have we made of you an Ummah justly balanced, that you might be witnesses over
the nations, and the Apostle a witness over yourselves,"(2:143).
5.
The Islamic Society's fifth characteristic is an Ummah. This idea is well
explained in the Quran as a Muslim community. In Surah Al-Anbiya (The
Prophets), Allah says: "Verily, this brotherhood of yours is a single
brotherhood, and I am your lord and cherisher: Therefore serve me (and no
other)" (21:92). This idea of being an Ummah is well explained in Surah
Al-Mu'minun (the believers) Allah says: "And verily this brotherhood of
yours is a single brotherhood, and I am your lord and cherisher: therefore fear
me (and no other) (25:52)
6.
The concept of consultation is another feature of the Islamic Society. Under
the title of consulting, Allah designated the entire Surah in the Quran. In
Surah Ash-Shura (Consultation) Allah says: "And who (conduct) their
affairs by mutual consultation; who spend out of what we bestow on them for
sustenance," (42-38).
7. The Brotherhood is
another characteristic. The concept of brotherhood is the basis of Islamic
society. Muslims are directed to feel the concept of brotherhood and to apply
it. In this connection, ....................................................................................................................................
